Expedition. There are no day-trips. Drive to Hualapai Hilltop (3h from Flagstaff, 4.5h from Vegas), then hike ~10 miles (4-6 hrs) in. A permit is mandatory and must be booked far in advance via the Havasupai Tribe - no walk-ins, overnight stays only (most see Havasu, Mooney and Beaver over 2-3 days). Carry water and sun protection; watch for flash floods.
