Worth it & getting there FIELD RATING
Easy · Day trip
45 min from Akureyri · roadside
Easy. ~45 minutes from Akureyri, right off the Ring Road with a car park on each bank. No ticket. An easy short walk to both the east and west viewpoints. From Reykjavík it's a 6-hour drive, so fly to Akureyri and base in the north. Summer for easy access; winter is stark and beautiful but icy.
